Brandon Kruse, PMHNP-BC, FNP-C — founder of Embrace Psychiatry
Background

Six years of clinical experience. Two board certifications. One philosophy.

Brandon Kruse is a dual board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C). He holds active licensure in Idaho, Arizona, Oregon, and Washington, with Nevada licensure in process, and a federal DEA registration for controlled substance prescribing in all four states.

Before founding Embrace Psychiatry, Brandon served as a U.S. Army officer and remains in active reserve status. The discipline of military service shaped how he runs a clinical practice: thorough preparation, clear communication, and a low tolerance for sloppy work.

His clinical focus is adult ADHD, with particular interest in patients whose ADHD presents as a high-functioning compensation pattern — the executives, founders, attorneys, and physicians whose intelligence has masked the diagnosis for decades. He also treats anxiety, depression, sleep disorders, trauma, and bipolar disorder.

What you can expect from working with me.

  1. 01

    Real evaluations.

I block a full 60 minutes for new patients because that's what an honest adult ADHD assessment requires.

  2. 02

    Honest answers.

If you have ADHD, I'll tell you. If you don't, I'll tell you that too — and explain what I think is going on and where to go next.

  3. 03

    Responsible prescribing.

I prescribe stimulants and other controlled substances when clinically indicated, in full compliance with state and federal regulations. I will not prescribe based on patient pressure or social media trends.

  4. 04

    Continuity matters.

You see me every visit. The treating provider knowing your history is part of the treatment.

  5. 05

    Work the whole patient.

Sleep, exercise, nutrition, alcohol, caffeine, and life circumstances all affect how medication works. We'll talk about all of it because all of it matters.

Outside the Practice

Outside the practice, Brandon lives in Nampa, Idaho with his family. He's an avid bowhunter, ammunition reloader, and student of functional fitness and naturopathic approaches to health. He's interested in alternative therapies that have evidence behind them and skeptical of those that don't.
