How it works

Three steps. No phone tag. No filler.

01 · Book

Pick a 60-minute intake online.

Self-schedule directly. No phone tag, no waitlist roulette, no triage call before you can talk to a clinician.

02 · Meet

Structured assessment over secure video.

Real history, real plan. We screen for the conditions that get missed — sleep apnea, ADHD comorbidity, substance use, thyroid.

03 · Run the plan

Follow-ups every 2–6 weeks.

Messaging between visits. Adjustments based on data, not vibes. You get your provider's actual attention.

Brandon Kruse, founding provider
The provider

Brandon Kruse, PMHNP-BC, FNP-C

Dual-board-certified psychiatric and family nurse practitioner. U.S. Army veteran. Founder of Embrace Psychiatry.

I built this practice because I was tired of watching capable men get filtered out of the mental-health system. Long waitlists. Generic plans. Soft-coded conversations.

Embrace Psychiatry runs differently: short waits, direct talk, evidence-anchored medicine, and a provider who actually returns messages.

“Brandon came across as super thorough but not in a hurry. He actually listened and put together a plan that made sense instead of the usual cookie-cutter approach. I got in same week.”

“Best psychiatrist I have ever worked with. Brandon listens and makes me feel heard. He doesn’t just jump to a conclusion and shove a medication down my throat. This guy is legit.”

Common questions

Before you book.

Do you take my insurance?

We are in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield in all active states, plus state-specific commercial plans (SelectHealth, SLHP, Mountain Health CO-OP, PacificSource, Aetna). See the full insurance matrix → We do not accept Medicare or Medicaid. Self-pay is $400 intake / $200 follow-up.

How fast can I be seen?

Most new patients are scheduled within 7 days. Established patients can usually get a follow-up within 48 hours. After you submit a request, you’ll hear back within one business day.

Do you prescribe stimulants and other controlled substances?

Yes — when clinically appropriate. ADHD stimulants (Adderall, Vyvanse, Concerta, Ritalin), benzodiazepines short-term, and sleep medications. All controlled-substance prescribing follows DEA telemedicine rules. We do not bridge prescriptions from outside providers without a full intake.

Can I switch from another psychiatrist or NP?

Yes. Bring your current medication list and recent records to the intake. We do a full evaluation rather than a refill-only visit — expect 60 minutes, not 15.

What states do you cover?

Idaho, Washington, Oregon, Arizona, and Utah are active. Nevada is opening soon (DEA registration pending). You must be physically located in one of these states at the time of each visit. See state pages →

Will I be tested or screened?

For ADHD evaluations, we may use CNS Vital Signs — a 30-minute computerized cognitive battery — to add objective data to the diagnostic interview. More on CNSVS →

What happens after I book?

You’ll receive intake paperwork by email within minutes. Complete it before your visit. About 5 minutes before your scheduled time, you’ll get a secure video link. The first visit is 60 minutes.

Is this covered if I’m a veteran?

We are not VA Community Care contracted. Veterans use either commercial insurance or self-pay. The practice is veteran-owned and built around how operators present in care.
